MacBook Pro
February 5th, 2008 MarieI bought a MacBook Pro yesterday. I canceled the Dell XPS. I have had some problems with programs crashing on the Mac. I thought Macs were perfect. Maybe it’s because I am doing so many things at once. I don’t like the way you scroll on the touch pad. You need two fingers. I am still trying to figure a lot of stuff out. I lost Firefox somehow last night. It wasn’t on the program bar thing, and it wasn’t in my applications. I had to download it, and when it tried to install it, it appeared again. I have these disks on my desktop, like a Firefox one, and I guess I wasn’t supposed to “eject” it. I don’t know what I am doing. I don’t know what ejecting a disk does.
iPhoto crashed on me. I am downloading WoW, and that crashed on me. It took me about 3 hours to finally find a way that worked to get my songs off of my iPod and on to here.
Other than that, I love it. I bought it at the Apple store yesterday.
Frenchie almost got hit by a car this morning. I live on a semi-busy street. She usually never goes in the street. I wasn’t paying attention. She was even closer to getting hit by a car when I first got her. I guess that person didn’t see her and wasn’t stopping, and I screamed “FRENCHIE” just in time. She was SO close to getting hit. I think it was a bus.
I have been SO depressed and miserable. I don’t know why. I am going out and everything. I am REAL depressed. Not right this second, but it comes and goes.

October 5th, 2007 MarieThe wordpress “post via email” isn’t working for me, even with a cron job. If you want to use something different try Postie. You can also use images with it (which you can’t with the built in wordpress one).
Download and install it.
Configure it in WP Options.
Set up a cron job. You can set up a cron job in your cPanel. It is just something that runs a script to check for new mail. It’s the hardest part and the instructions on it kind of suck.
In the cron job area of the cPanel put a “*” in all the boxes. This is using the advanced menu (there’s two choices, usually). The “*” will make it check for a new email every minute/check the script. To the right of all the stars, put “/usr/local/bin/php -q /home/mayreee/public_html/wp/wp-content/plugins/postie/get_mail.php”. Of course change the settings to yours. You will just have to change “mayreee”, usually. And maybe the folder you installed WP in. You may want to delete the name that follows “Please enter an email address where the cron output will be sent:”, once you know the cron job is working. If you don’t you will get an email EVERY MINUTE saying if the cron job was completed. Trust me, I had like 64,000 emails once.
Other than that, the instructions should tell you everything.

May 17th, 2007 MarieI just got the credit back in my account. I didn’t have enough money in my Dell Preferred Account to pay for it, so I was going to pay some with Visa. There was no option to split payment. I called Dell and there was no way to do that and the AWESOME guy there took $130.00 off my order and gave me a free printer!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got everything I wanted and didn’t have to pay extra out of my bank account. That is so freaking cool!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE DELL.
